Use Olive Oil to Make Dull Marble Countertops Look New

make dull marble countertops look new

Marble can get cloudy and scratched over time, losing its luster, especially on kitchen surfaces that get a lot of use. The best solution to make dull marble countertops look new is resurfacing, but that takes time, power tools, and money if you want it done professionally. Thankfully, before taking that step, there is still a way to enjoy gleaming countertops, and it takes less than two minutes. To make dull marble countertops look new, just pour half a teaspoon of olive oil (sunflower and other oils found in the kitchen can work too) onto clean marble and wipe it across the surface with a dry cloth or paper towel. Use another dry cloth to buff away any excess oil. That’s all there is to it! It might not be as long-lasting as resurfacing, but no one will be able to spot the difference.

Muffin Pan Drawer Organizer

muffin pan drawer organizer

Put a new spin on those old fashioned muffin tins by turning them into muffin pan drawer organizers! I’m all about reduce, reuse, recycle, anything that involves less crowded landfills. Flea markets, estate sales, thrift stores and yard sales are the perfect hunting ground for old fashioned kitchen ware which can be up-cycled in untold ways. I especially love the way these muffin pans allow me to divide and store my little office supplies without the drawer becoming one big junk drawer.

Use Duct Tape With Dustpan to Sweep Up Crumbs

Use Duct Tape with Dustpan to Sweep Crumbs

Use duct tape with dustpan to sweep up crumbs. If you’re OCD, then this is the perfect cleaning tip for you! Tape the edge of your dustpan to the floor in order to create a bridge. This ensures there’s no crack for unruly crumbs to slip through. Make sure you don’t do this with any painted or varnished surfaces as the paint can pull up your flooring finish.
