Draw Circles Without a Protractor Using a Speed Square

Many speed squares or rafter squares have a notch by their corner. Simply drive a nail where you want the center of the circle, place your pencil in a slot or on the edge of the square, place the nail in the corner notch and rotate!

  1. This article’s title might be better as: Draw a Perfect Circle without a Compass using a Speed Square. A protractor measures angles — a compass draws circles.
